Because You’re Mine by Colleen Coble

A combination mystery and love song “Because You’re Mine” creates artful tension as you watch the aftermath of widow Alanna after the death of her husband Liam. Alone, pregnant, and distraught Alanna returns to Ireland to speak with her in-laws. Turns out the Irish aristocratic in laws aren’t so keen on letting her continue to tour with her band in America causing Alanna to flee back to the states and marry her band’s manager. What follows is a series of twists an turns as Alanna tries to adapt to her new life while growing a new life an still grieving the death of her husband.

This story has the appropriate level of grief in it balanced with hope and reverence to things beyond our control. While admittedly some of the plot points seem a bit outside reality, it is not too far that it ruins the story. Additionally there are some characters that don’t seem vital to the plot that could have been trimmed out and the story would not have lacked anything. That being said this was the perfect poolside read and easy to get through.
